Frequently Asked Questions
What is MedClub's Prescription Weight Loss Program? +
It's a medically supervised weight loss program built around three core components: a personalized consultation, a physician-guided medication plan, and a sustainable nutrition strategy — all tailored to your individual health needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
What happens during my initial weight loss consultation? +
Your journey starts with a one-on-one consultation to discuss a healthy, individualized weight goal based on your current health status. We'll review your current weight, establish a realistic target, discuss medication options that may support your progress, and outline a nutrition approach designed for lasting change — not a short-term diet. The initial weight loss consultation is $150.
What is a physician-written weight loss protocol? +
Once your plan is finalized, you'll receive a custom, physician-written protocol tailored to your health profile and dietary preferences. We consider a range of weight loss medications individualized to your specific needs, with ongoing physician oversight throughout treatment.
How often will I need follow-up visits? +
Weight loss isn't a one-time visit — it's a process. We follow up monthly or every 90 days to monitor your progress, discuss any side effects, and talk through the everyday stressors that can make weight loss harder. These check-ins let us adjust your plan as needed and keep you supported along the way.
How long does medical weight loss take? +
Timelines vary based on your starting point, goals, and how your body responds to treatment. On average, patients on our program remain on medication for 3 to 6 months while working toward their goal weight, though individual results and timelines vary.
Is there support beyond medication? +
Yes. Medication can be a valuable tool, but lasting weight loss also depends on the habits you build along the way. We also offer vitamin and nutrient injection support, available at our Palm Beach clinic or through our telemedicine portal, as an optional complement to your program.
Important Safety Information +
The prescription medications used in our program each carry their own safety profile, potential side effects, and boxed warnings — including a shared boxed warning for thyroid C-cell tumor risk among GLP-1 medications. We review the specific risks and considerations relevant to your prescribed medication during your consultation. For a general overview of the medications we may consider, including their FDA-approved uses and safety information, see our guide to weight loss medication options.
